Join Us in Helping Rebecca
Rebecca was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma on July 5th, 2024. That same day, a 12cm tumor was discovered during an abdominal echography. This devastating news has turned her life, and the lives of those who love her, upside down. We are raising funds to help cover the extensive medical treatments and associated costs necessary to give Rebecca a fighting chance at a normal life.
Who Are We and What Are We Raising Funds For?
Why Is This Cause Important to Us?
At just 2 years old, Rebecca is facing a battle no child should ever have to endure. As her family, we are committed to doing everything in our power to support her through this challenging journey. We believe that with the right medical care and support, Rebecca can overcome this illness and, alongside her older brother Theodor, enjoy the vibrant, joyful life that every child deserves. Watching her go through this living hell is heart-wrenching, and we are determined to give her every possible opportunity to heal.
The road to recovery for Rebecca is long and arduous, but it is not impossible. The funds raised will be used to cover:
Hospitalization;
Investigations and explorations;
Blood transfusions (A negative) to support her treatments;
Intensive chemotherapy;
Immunotherapy and radiotherapy;
Stem cell transplant (possibly 2);
Surgical interventions;
Quarterly check-ups in France for the first two years after the end of the treatment;
Transport;
Accommodation.
Rebecca needs multiple distressing and expensive investigations, interventions, and other unforeseen financial resources needed depending on her progress. Our goal is to raise 500,000 EUR, which represent the estimated amount for treatment costs.
How Will the Donations Be Used?
What is Neuroblastoma?
Neuroblastoma is a type of cancer that happens in young children. It starts in certain nerve cells called "neuroblasts," which are like tiny building blocks of the nervous system. Imagine these nerve cells as little superheroes in our body that sometimes get confused and turn into bad guys, making a lump called a tumor.
What Does Stage 4 Neuroblastoma Mean?
Stage 4 neuroblastoma is when these bad guy cells have spread from where they started to other parts of the body, like the bones, liver, or skin. It's like if the bad guys didn't stay in one place but decided to travel and cause trouble in different parts of the body.
Remember, doctors and nurses work really hard to fight these bad cells with special medicine and treatments to help kids get better.
