Friday, August 30
  • The tests were altered, so the fifth chemotherapy session has been postponed until Monday.

Thursday, August 29
  • Following the abdominal ultrasound, it was observed that the main tumor has decreased from 7.5 cm to 6.7 cm.

Wednesday, August 28
  • Rebecca will undergo a bone marrow aspirate under sedation. A sample of bone marrow will be extracted for analysis.

Monday, August 26
  • Rebecca receives her sixth blood transfusion.

Thursday, August 22
  • She begins her fourth chemotherapy session.

Saturday-Wednesday, August 17-21
  • We stay at home and are very happy that Rebecca is playing with her little brother Theo and spending quality time with family.

Wednesday, August 14
  • Rebecca is losing her hair and has received her fifth blood transfusion.

Tuesday, August 13
  • She had a chest CT to check for COVID infection.

Monday, August 12
  • Rebecca tested positive for COVID, and we are isolated on the third floor.

Friday-Saturday, August 9-10
  • She receives her third round of chemotherapy.

Wednesday, August 7
  • Rebecca receives a platelet transfusion, which is necessary to help increase her platelet levels in the blood and prevent bleeding, as platelets play a crucial role in clotting.

Monday, August 5
  • Rebecca receives her fourth transfusion.

Thursday, August 1
  • During the abdominal ultrasound, it was found that the abdominal tumor mass has decreased from 12 to 7.5 cm, which means Rebecca's body is responding to the treatment 💛

Wednesday, July 31
  • Rebecca starts receiving continuous infusions for 48 hours to ensure proper hydration and to eliminate toxins from her body.

Tuesday, July 30
  • At 12:00 PM, the second round of chemotherapy was completed without any adverse effects.

Monday, July 29
  • Today, Rebecca started the second round of chemotherapy.

  • The two medications for this round are Cisplatin and Vincristine.

  • Cisplatin will be administered through a continuous infusion for 24 hours.

Friday, July 19
  • Two weeks after the diagnosis, Rebecca starts chemotherapy.

  • It is the much-awaited beginning of the long and difficult road to recovery.

Wednesday, July 17
  • Following numerous problems encountered at the Pediatrics 2 hospital, we voluntarily transfer to the Prof. Dr. Ion Chiricuţă Oncology Institute.

Tuesday, July 16
  • We travel to Oradea for a PET CT scan.

Monday, July 15
  • We are transported by ambulance to the Pediatrics 1 hospital, where we wait 3.5 hours for the surgical procedure to place the port-a-cath.

  • The procedure is successfully carried out.

Sunday, July 14
  • The altered general condition persists.

  • Blood tests are collected again, and antipyretic treatment continues.

Saturday, July 13
  • Rebecca's general condition deteriorates: apathy, lack of appetite, irritability, fever.

  • She receives antipyretic treatment.

Friday, July 12
  • We celebrate Rebecca's birthday together with her father and brother, Theo.

Wednesday, July 10
  • Sample collection for routine analyses.

  • Treatment with Tasectan begins. From July 5 to 15, Rebecca receives daily antibiotic treatment and hydration infusions with glucose, potassium, saline, and aminoven.

Tuesday, July 9
  • Second lumbar puncture to collect cells, later sent to Fundeni Institute to determine the n-Myc gene amplification.

Monday, July 8
  • MRI with full body scan and general anesthesia. Multiple (7) metastases are identified in the following sections:

    • neck-chest

    • chest-abdomen

    • renal pedicles

    • two secondary bone lesions.

Sunday, July 7
  • Preparation (intravenous) for MRI begins.

Saturday, July 6
  • Post-transfusion, a considerable improvement in physical and emotional condition is observed.

Friday, July 5
  • First blood transfusion and confirmation of the diagnosis of NEUROBLASTOMA STAGE 4, HIGH RISK.

  • First abdominal ultrasound performed in Cluj - another tumor mass, 12 cm, oriented to the left, is identified.

Thursday, July 4
  • Emergency admission to Pediatrics 2, Cluj, hemato-oncology department. Samples are immediately collected for analysis, and the medical file from Sibiu is reviewed.

  • First lumbar puncture. The presence of cancer cells is confirmed.
